[ElectriciansForums.net] knocked up & knocked out

i`ll leave the rest to you boys...

I dont see how you are supposed to use that while PAT testing?
Unless its for testing hard wired equipment but then I would use a block like the one above.

I do have a home made plug adapter that does a similar thing but it has fully insulated plugs on it rather than croc clips.

If Used Improperly There is a Guaranteed High Risk of Injury, Electrocution and even Death

Well at least it comes with a guarantee!

Not sure how I would use one for testing portable appliances, I usually like to put the plug on before testing not afterwards. Strange.

You know what your trouble is??
You just have no sense of adventure !!

Ha ha, you had better take a tour of my vintage electrical playroom... If I'm going to get a belt off something, I would like it to be a nice polished piece of century-old craftsmanship not a goofy bit of flex with live unshrouded croc clips.

E2A My PAT tester has just reminded me to take it in for calibration. Which made me think - if this thing is for use when testing, presumably it comes with a calibration certificate :)

RE: homemade death lead

Hi there.
As you are well aware this item has the potential to kill someone, something you cannot control once it has been sold. It is for this reason I have reported you to ebay for selling a hazardous item, and the Health and Safety Executive. I suggest you look up GS38, and the electricity at work regulations. I would send you a link but I am busy contacting trading standards and the electrical safety council.

Regards

i might have gone down the route of a PM to him initially with the assurance that if he did not withdraw that nonsense from sale that you would then take it further (HSE)...
but keep us all informed Andy....see how it pans out...

Yeah I thought of that approach, but then saw his disclaimer that displayed his full knowledge of the dangers, yet he is still willing to sell them and put people's lives at risk.
Someone with that attitude can go take a flying f*** at a rolling doughnut in my eyes.

Will update if there is anything to report.
