Can anyone recommend a hand held label printer. Looking to get one and wondering if any body has had experience with them.

I own this:
[ElectriciansForums.net] Label Printers

A brother PT7600

It is an excellent printer, many different sizes and colours of tape available, has an automatic spacing option for labeling consumer units etc, has warning symbols so I now make my own caution stickers and it is rechargable and quite durable. Replacement tapes are around ÂŁ10-ÂŁ12 each.

you could also look at the Dymo version which would be the RhinoPRO 5000 or 6000 machines, which are the other main specialist electrical/cabling labelers apart from the Brother one.

If you goto the RhinoPRO site they actually giving the 5000's away (worth over 70 quid!) if you buy any 10 tapes.

I am using a hand label printer that is similar in looks to this. That is from Dymo it is same in color to this. My problem is I have lost its battery. Now, need suggestion which battery I can use with this printer. As I do not have any idea about this. Please guide me.

You would need to know the model number of the printer.
Since it is the colour of the above it is probably a rhino printer.

These links take you to pages that you can purchase rhino printer batteries but note that the picture and serial number do not always match!

I think you are right. I have gone through the links you have provided the battery I had was similar in looks to the battery of Rhino even printer was similar in looks. I think I should try this battery. What about the battery backup time? How long will it last?

I'm not sure why you're having such difficulty identifying your printer? If it looks like the one above then it's a Brother and the model number is written on the front (as in the picture above). If it's a Dymo then again it will have the model number written across the front. There aren't many different ones it could be that are yellow/black - the old 5000, the new 4200, the 5200 or the 6000 and every single one has the model number written on the front. Just let me know the model number and I'll tell you exactly which battery you need and if it's still available or discontinued.

Bought a brother pt1000 from lidl as back up for ÂŁ12.99
Sample tape won't last that long, but the full 12 mm cartridge reels are ÂŁ9.99
Can't go wrong with them prices :)
