Large builders

Does anyone on here have experience or currently do any work for large house builders?

What kind of prices do they offer for new build work?

Me and my mate just smashed out three 3 bed houses in a week. And no it wasn’t a rough job, we are just fast workers and know how to get it done well (not blowing are own horns)

I’m sure I spoke to someone a while back to who said they get a day for pair to 1st fix and a day for a pair 2nd fix a 2/3 bed house....

Im yet to see a new build with skim . All seem to get tape and filled . Plus its nice to be able to remove the dry liner after plastering .

Charles church the ones who do retirement, warden assisted, new build flats have them skimmed.

All the large builders eg Barratts, Redrow, Persimmon etc that I used to deal with had the plasterboard skimmed. Maybe it's more a regional thing?

It must be regional . No sign of any skim from the same lot up here .

probably coz they not learnt how to in yorkshire. slapping sheep shyte on walls is not compliant with building regs.

up until recently a lot of the social housing built by the large developers around here had just lining paper on the plaster boards then a quick splash of emulsion. saved a few hundred on each property, they were built to bare acceptable standard as part of the planning requirements. has been some improvement of late with the air flow tests amongst other things requiring things to be sealed up well.

The last big Barrett site I worked on was just taped joints and filled/painted. Not a drop of skim plaster touched a single wall.
But other sites I previously worked on got a skim of plaster

How are you going to remove the dry liner when Anthony has fitted it pre skim ?
