hi all, not been on here much recently as i've been away from electrical work a bit due to injury (not from work :p ), but got a quick question for more experienced eyes than mine.

got a message from a friend wanting to find a blank plate for a flush metal box with the dimensions 100mm x 160mm. it's been used i think as an entry area behind an old wall mounted appliance (possibly shower unit or something) so never had a matching faceplate.
it looks the same as your standard (~85x140) 2 gang KO boxes - has just the two screw threads one at each end, but is just slightly bigger in each direction.

obviously i've been through the obvious suggestions (hang a picture over it :D) but it got me curious as i haven't been able to find anything that size after looking around a bit. does it ring any bells for anyone?

cheers guys. good shouts streamer and Dave, the picture i saw was in a tiled area so bathroom or even cooker area is possible.

yeah i did suggest exactly that Gavin, if it needed to be waterproofed. a nice coloured perspex or something and make it a feature!

Paint it and use it as a little inset soap dish. Tell your neighbours it's 'vintage' and 'industrial' etc. etc. They'll all want one.
