Hi guys
i need a lot of downlighters to fix so I have been looking at laser levels to make it a bot easier. Checking the net you can buy from about ÂŁ20 upwards all with supposedly very accurate. I like the dewalt but it seems you need over ÂŁ100 for level then buy separate tripod (or can you use a photography tripod?) Any pointers as to what I need to look for?
thanks all

I use the DeWalt DW087K. Very accurate. Very robust. Bright enough for indoors work. I used to have a cheapie (ÂŁ40ish including short tripod) but soon got fed up with it.

For lines on the ceiling, just put the laser on the floor, no tripod needed. A photography tripod would do if needed. I tend to use a floor-to-ceiling adjustable pole as it takes up less space and is more stable. It's also taller than most tripods (up to most domestic ceilings), so horizontal lines at high level are possible.

I've the same as HandySparks, the Dewalt DW087K. Superb piece of kit. They have a newer model out so you can get it at a decent price if you egt lucky, think I got mine for around ÂŁ110!

I have one and as long as you mount it within 10° of level it will sort itself out.
