Hi
I've been looking at laser levels.
I know there is a few posts on them that I've read.
But does anyone have any view or experience on the Leica lino l2 and the l2+
I'm looking at both and also the dewalt 88

Just wondering with the lino L2 how far is it thill the beam is projected from the laser?

Thanks in advance

Hi, I have the Leica Lino L2 and I cannot tell you how great this tool is! I use it daily as an electrician and for property refurbishment. The beam has great precise projection inside that will give you accurate results without limitation. Outside the beam is clearly visible up to about 8 meters, however you can buy a laser receiver RVL 100 this will detect the beam up to 80 meters.
For Electrical work i use it for marking down lighters, running horizontal and vertical chases, leveling switch gear cutouts across a room anything you can think of really that requires a constant level over large areas. I recommend getting a support pole and grip which gives you unlimited height options when for example installing light switch gear at your desired height.

Leica are the leading industry in laser projection so for me it was a no brainer (i am not Leica endorsed by the way)

I've got a DeWalt DW087K and a Stanley 3.6m Extension Pole kit which can be used with a tripod too so if you have tall ceilings its still usable.

Hope this helps

Hi i've got the Lino L2+ great time saving tool.:yesnod:

Only thing I would suggest is you go for the pole as the tripods can't go down to 450mm with the laser attached (i got it down to 460mm ffl). I got the T100 free with the original purchase and bought the T70 recently. I think there may be smaller table top camera tripods available that may suffice.

so before it was 50/50 on a Leica and dewalt but after these two first hand reports.... 90/10..
Just to decide if it's worth ÂŁ30 more for the lino 2+ or just have the 2 and get the tripod as the + doesn't come with one ?
But the 2 then again protects above the unit am I right?

+1 for the lino +2. I bought the pole after a while and that's invaluable too. Never used a tripod. Would worry other trades would knock over.

I've got the Lino 2+ and my mate has a dewalt 087 (predecessor to the 088)

Both are great bits of kit and both are better in some ways than the other.

Personally I think the Lino 2+ edges it, but I do like the built in magnetic swivel bracket on the dewalt, my Lino does have a similar thing but it's bulky and a screw on adaptor

i have a basic green bosch, doing mostly domestic and it does the job. enough for planning for spotlights or sockets above kitchen worktop where precision matters. it come with its little tripod, but marking for sockets I usually stand it on the floor on some toolbox without the tripod.

Just received my Leica lino 2+ from toucan tools .... Order yesterday at 12 and it was on my doorstep today...
Had a play in the kitchen at home and it's brilliant !!!!
And it's come just in time for a job next week!!! Shall post my thoughts next week
