Hi All. got a call today from the plasterers to see if I can repair a cable they chopped whilst chiselling. going to have a look tomorrow but they have informed me its lead sheathed. I've seen it before but never had anything to do with it. I'm guessing its un repairable and rewire is the sensible option. would just like to hear if any of you guys have repaired any lead and what with.
Thanks to all.
Daz.

Is it not an old redundant cable left in the wall that they’ve hit? Be very surprised if it’s still in use.....but then again...did anything trip or go bang when they hit it?

Plasterers cut cable, plasterers need to pay for repair = full rewire and you can put this on repeat.

What goes around comes around Karma for when you fill in back boxes and cut outs for down lights.

Get your smug face ready.......

can be repaired. all you need is to repair the conductors in the usual way ( crimp/solder/ heat shrink, then carefully solder some bare 2.5mm bare copper to bridge the lead. heat shrink over the top. where have all the old skills gone.

Can of worms here Daz start messing with lead sheathed cable will lead to heartache, lead sheathed cable needs specialist accessories which probably went out of production when Jesus was playing Center Forward for Bethlehem, could end up with a bucketful of rewiring work Daz.
