Hello all,
I'm very new but quite logical.
Just bought a top floor apartment 1985, built. I'm planning on installing LED dimmable lights throughout. I've researched the LEDs i'd like to install but my question is around the wiring.
Current setup:
1 center light.
4 wall mounted lights.
1 bank of 4 switches.
I was planning to remove the wall mounted lights terminate the ends and push them back in the wall, plaster over.
Install a 6 way splitter box from ScrewFix to split the cable leading to the centre light into 6 spots light cables.
Install a single dimmer switch in place of the bank of four switched.
6 x 6W Fire Rated Downlight (GU10) - LED Lights UK
20A 6-Terminal Heavy Duty Junction Box - ScrewFix
The other consideration I have is that their is insulation in the loft. The LEDs and fire rated.
Will the above work in general?
What cable do I need from the junction box?
How do you protect the LED unit from insulation?
Is the amperage ok for the LEDs?
Can I just terminate the wall light cables and push them back in the wall?
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy
