Looking to get a fair amount of LED ceiling lights. I know some of you swear by particular makes. I've been browsing the JCC site which i was comfortable on and looking at the FGLED6 new range. They look impressive especially the fire rated range. Are they good to install and reliable? From what I can see 3 options re finish and 2 re light output. The thing is though, cost has to come into equation. I've just tried to have a look at the LED HUT site but wasn't comfortable on that site, seems hard work getting around looking for products. any how any advice pointers etc. Thanks

Ok, possibly against other market leaders. At this point in time i have no idea of cost. I asked the question, as you stated that they were not the cheapest. So was pulling in on your experience in the market place. Thanks

They are comparable with other "integrated" units....... but if you sell on low price kit then avoid them.

No it's just for me really, well family member in new built house. Having said that I might replace my brown dome and twisted brown flex down to my lamp holders at home also. From what I've read this afternoon on jcc page, possibly require less fittings in a room than other makes. FGLED10's. Only saw FGLED6's yesterday. bit a minefield to a novice.

Regarding the ten year thing - think about it - how likely do you think JCC are that many will fail in 10 years.....?

Thats right, not many, otherwise they'd be a bit daft with their ten year plan.

so chances are they will last LONGER than 10 years. Like Murdoch pointed out, its hard to beat to be honest for the sake of a few quid. What else, electrical, can you buy thats guaranteed for 10 years??

Thanks for replies. As I've not installed LED d/lighters before. I'm concerned about the insulation that will be covering the lights. As you know upstairs lights will have loads directly above them. JCC have a good selling point re there driver is enclosed on the can. What action, precautions should I take if installing other makes? Do you guys move the insulation away from each and every light?

Take a look at these, else make up some boxing yourself from wood

In a lounge 7m x 5m would you go for 3w, 6w or even 10w LED down light fittings. I'm thinking 10w @ 60 degrees whist not requiring so many fittings maybe a bit to bright and possibly bit harsh on the eyes. I'm still looking at all options.

I would work with 6w units and beware if the client wants dimmers watch the max number per dimmer. JCC published a recommendation sheet.

Has anyone fitted the Loxa integrated downlights from Yesss? I fitted some the other day and have to say they were really good. The click style connector let's them down a bit with it being quite small though. Apart from that great output, good solid metal fitting (unlike halers etc) and good price!
