Hi,

I've got a customer who has a LED floodlight, with PIR, who requires an override facility, rather than being on the normal 90 second time delay.

As the fitting is wired in the manufacturers 3 core flex, how can this be overridden?

It has been wired in 3-core & earth but, obviously, only the Line, Neutral & Earth are currently being used (so a spare core). I was wanting to use a 3-way rocker switch, but still not sure how to get the switch wire direct to the LED fitting and bypass the PIR.

Does the fitting have a built in over ride function ? This is very common to find and is usually activated by cutting and restoring power to the fitting within a few seconds, usually with a standard one way switch.

Old halogen floods allowed for the facility, however LEDs do not!

Having contacted wholesalers and manufacturers they've stated that it isn't possible .. hence my query as I've done in care homes and residential properties with non-PIR fittings, wired from a photocell, but not a manufactured LED and integrated PIR (customers fitting was from LEDHUT)!

6243Y from the FCU to the PIR.

PIR has a 3-core (L, N & E) flex to fitting.

PCB (sorry auto correct stated PC) switched the fitting from PIR.

Customer wants an override switch to enable them to have the light on for longer than 90 seconds when they need to load / unload the car.

In the normal setting (PIR controlled) the time delay is set for 90 seconds.

The 1-2 seconds on / off switching doesn't work on LED integrated fitting (as per manufactures) so I wanted some advice from others that have managed to rectify with with the use of a 3-way rocker switch (Top = PIR, only; Middle = OFF; Bottom = Manual overide).

Maybe I should speak to some competent individual's who are prepared to assist me Jo?!

If the manufacturer has stated its not possible, which is fairly obvious from the fact it has only a 3 core flex, then it is not possible.
You need to get a different fitting which does have the S/L out terminal or else fit a separate PIR and light fitting.

Every LED floodlight with integrated PIR I have ever fitted has had an over ride facility. I have never used LEDhut's PIR models though.

That will work fine as long as the Pirs use relay switching, some don't.
