Hi all, I bought some LEDs off of Amazon and put them up in my room. They are remote control but for some reason after 10 mins they shut off. They have a 4 pin connector going into the light s from a little rgb connector box. That then goes by anwire to mains through a 12v transformer. Why does this happen.

Wow, those fingers of yours look like they've seen some action recently ;)

When the LED's cut out after 10 minutes can you restart them immediately again using the remote or do they refuse to work again for several minutes?

Probably overheating and activating a thermal cut out, how close are you leaving the tansformer to the bulb?

Personally if they are new I would send them back to Amazon and get a refund, I may be generalizing but the vast majority of electrical stuff from Amazon is the lower end of cheap Chinese crap, the kind of stuff which is likely to spontaneously burst into flames (the recent recall of the hover boards is a good example) Amazon are now simply market place so there are no controls on quality.

I would suggest looking at https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/ they sell stuff like that and it will be a better quality product.

The transformer isn't getting hot and is about 1 m away from the LEDs so I don't beleive this is an issue. I will ask Amazon for a refund as I can't be arsed to buy more parts for them. Long live Tawanese tat!
