Having a bit of a nightmare ,loads of led light fittings to be connected,on 1st fix used 1.5mm as spec, problem being is how to join this to the fittings,it's ok where a void is present, but with 2 x 1.5mm at fitting major problems, the designer put the problem back to us,he now suggested it would of been better to cable in 2 core flex, the drivers are remote & personally I don't think that would of been correct. In the cellar we can get back to a trunking with the joints,ok to crimp & heat shrink,or use wagos ,interested on your thoughts cheers

Not quite sure exactly what you mean as your post is as clear as mud, but my guess is that you've got fixtures/drivers that won't fit 2 x 1.5mm T&E cables, and not enough space to be able to fit a junction box.

Well, tbh, if you've not got the space for a tiny JB, then how are you achieving your minimum ventilation distances?? Anyhow, by the sounds of it you need to re-think your cable layout design. It might be better to use a 1mm heat flex instead all going back to a central distribution junction. Guess you're in for an expensive time of having to go cutting some new ceilings around.......

Spot on,sorry about confusion, these fittings are all surface mount where the problem lies, they just don't accept the t&e cabling without real difficulty, should of been sorted out by lighting designer, but he really don't wanna no now.The difficult ones are the led tape light fittings,it really is beyond me,small flex connection to the unit,no where to hide joint, yes it's gonna be frustrating & time consuming, cheers

With the tape lights, you only need to run the finest of wires from the controller to the first strip - cat5 would suffice. What's your soldering skills like?
