LED PIR Flood Light wiring

Just after a little advice if someone would be able to help:

I have recently purchased some new LED PIR flood lights to replace old halogen ones, the issue I currently have is that the old lights used 3 core and earth, Live, Switched Live, Neutral and Earth. The new lights only have 3 terminals including earth so am unsure how to wire so that the switch will over ride the PIR.

Advice would be greatly apreciated

You might be lucky and the fitting may have pulse override...If they don't then you've brought the incorrect lights.

Okay, if it has the pulse override I will wire both the Live and switched live into the L terminal?
Is the pulse override where you flick the switch on then off again?

No just the switch live and make the perm live safe.

Ah okay I see, thanks for the info that’s great.
Just one last thing... if the light only has a switched live the switch will need to be left on for the PIR to be active? I know it’s a stupid questions but it’s just backwards to how it used to be

Yes left on for the pir to operate...then off, on, off, on to over ride, if the fitting has the capability.

I'm not sure i've seen a LED floodlight with PIR with a "4th" terminal....

Oh okay, what’s the reasoning for the PIR not having a perm live now?

Most only have 3 core, so live, neutral and earth ....

If you need to buy a new light, do lots of research first!

Standalone PIR & Non PIR Floodlight.

And a 3 position switch if possible (will depend on the wiring you have) so you can have it on Auto (PIR mode), OFF, of On (Overriding the PIR)

I have noticed that does anyone know why this is ?. When we had to replace PIR halogen floods rewired with adaptable box and separate light and PIR as 123 posted.

I swear time guard had a flood light with an extra PIR output too for connecting another light to it. So it was SW/F in, SW out, N, E. Just another thought.
