Hello all.

I want to fit LED strip lights to the ceiling with 45 degree channeling and diffuser around my son’s room. As there are so many different types, brands, lengths, amps/volts, accessories etc I could use some advice from anyone who’s done this please and the most reliable site to order from.

1. Is it possible to join 4 lengths together with 90 degree connectors with only 1 power supply, or would I need 2? (The room has a perimeter of approx 15m).

2. Is it possible to buy a plain power cable extension that could run from the plug all the way up the corner of a room then the LED starts at the ceiling? (As opposed to having LEDs running up the corner of the wall?)

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I have watched many YouTube videos but nothing is covering all bases for my specific needs.

Cheers guys,
Bazz

15m won’t be a problem. Most strips are sold as so many watts per metre…. Multiply by length to get total watts and get the power supply next size up.

Electrical wholesalers will be able to source everything including the aluminium mouldings and a cover strip.

Every LED strip has a maximum length before voltage drop is an issue and you will see visible dimming towards the end of the strip on a 15m strip
12v strips max is around 5 m and 24v strips is around 10 m

So I would recommend you buy 24v LED (with the correctly rated driver for at least 15m) and install the feed in the middle feeding 2 x 7.5m LED instead of 1 x 15m LED

Agreed. I bought three 5 metre LED strips to run from a USB supply. The spec said you could have 4 strips connected together. First strip fine, next strip dimmer third strip dimmer still. Solved it by effectively wiring the strips up as a ring (end strip cabled back to power source.)
