leds glowing

hi guys, can some one give me some information on a problem i came across.
i have a multicore swa cable switcing on pier lights and garden lights, however when the pier lights are on one of the garden lights starts to glow. i checked voltage at light and it is receiving 40 volts, and what makes it even stranger is that the other garden light is receiving 40 volts also but not glowing.
they are gu10 leds. the armour of cable is not connected outside but maybe connected ar the switch,
hope some one can help i was told that if i earth the light it will go away but i think it is earthed

generally a capacitor and resistor combination that filters the induced voltage away. othedrwise known as magic

Bung in a standard GU10 and see if it makes any difference. Just one, no need to replace the whole lot.

I've had the same thing, 4 way GU10 light fitting, no problems with wiring and earthed (2 way switched), standard GU10s are fine but bung in LED GU10s and they glow, not bright but you can see they are very slightly lit. When I get back there i'll change 1 lamp for a standard GU10 to see if it stops the glow.

sounds like a backfeed problem

actually i remember one of the forum dinosaurs on about this on a 3core used for switching

I have seen this with fluorescent tube lights on a circuit with a shared earth/neutral. It was giving shocks on the neutral creating a potential voltage difference at around 60 volts. It was solved when the circuits were separated.
