It's a shame they don't swage the ends onto the cheap set a bit better, they'll last longer and they could charge a bit more and let someone else take over the cheapo slot. Simple surely

The cheapo set will have no brass bits left by the end of the week!!

Gaz :)

I've got a set of these rods, undoubtedly not as good as the superrods but a lot cheaper. Think I paid about ÂŁ22.

On my second set, first set lasted around 3/4 years. Probably get used on 2/3 jobs a month. Have been known to ram them up cavities (ooo errr) and generally abuse them. Never had a brass thread come off the end and only snapped a couple. Only got some new ones as the old were splintering in places. More flexible than the superods (certainly the red ones - not sure about yellow. I don't own any!) which is sometimes a good thing/sometimes a bad one.

Ideally I'd also have a set of superrods and abuse these cheaper ones but haven't felt the need to buy some in 6 years of use!

I had a rep, sell some similar device,to a couple of lads i know, and they spent hours trying to get to grips...they were told to use as a "draw" not a "fish".

In other words, you can pull, but not push. The scenario described, was an old cable pulls it in,and you then pull the new cable in,with said item.

As mentioned, some are as springy as Grace Jones armpit hair.

Buy a cheapo ÂŁ10.99 set on eBay, use them for a few days. You'll soon have a HUGE appreciation of just how good the SuperRods are. Yeah, I've snapped a few yellows over the years, but only once ever have I had the brass bit pull off the end (on a red one). The cheapo set will have no brass bits left by the end of the week!!

Gaz :)
I got a set of 10 rods with the flexi, hook and one with a hole for less than ÂŁ20. Still going strong. What kind of abuse are these rods getting into...
Poor rods.

The armeg rods are good! ÂŁ30 for 10 have abused mine daily and yet to snap one.
The cheap blue sets are great for fibreglass splinters!
