Level of Certification

Hi Forum

Im Fully qualified to the 16th edition and was wondering what works can be undertook without certification. im very capable and i take pride making sure my work is safe so surely if my sister asks me to change a bathroom light i should be able to do it. im a little confused with all the legislation side of things as ive always worked for a big company where this was always sorted out in the offiice after handing in various test result sheets. but if i wanted to go and do a job on my own what would i need to do. Ive read that you have to be a member of an organisation to be able to self certify, but this seems like a lenthy process to do a small job here and there.



any advise would be appriciated

Thanks for the links very useful however it basically says that i need my own test equipment to do any work wich could be very costly

Keep your eyes on flea bay for a multifunction tester, just add £65 ish for a cal cert......
