light levals

hi all
has any one got a list of sugested light levals in propeties ie kitchen lounge ect

This is starting to get into the realms of Lighting design but I will try to break it down into as easy to understand as I can;

The light levels are all based on the 'working' plane. to get the best results you will need to consult a lighting designer or get handy with programs such as Relux, however. . . .

Bathrooms & Corridors - 200 lux

Kitchens & Reception ares - 300 lux

Offices / shops - approx 500 lux

So a 3mtr by 4mtr kitchen dinner would require approx 8 or 9 MR16 low voltage 50W halogens to give it the required light levels.

(There are many other factors which effect this such as colours of floors and walls, natural light etc)
