Don't fall into the trap of ticking the 'separation box' because you have a shaver socket on an installation, the regulations apply to a separated final circuit ie. where the separation is distributed.
Good point but no shaver socket. I think I will start by trying to find where the circuit enters the loft as it's fairly straightforward, split it and IR back at the board. Got to start somewhere...
I am sure I will be slapped for this and put right... but when I was testing today all my readings were the same for 250v as 500v so why is it important to test at 500, I know we test Selv LN/E at 250 or anything not sure about LN/E 250 but if we get the same readings 250/500 for singles, seems a good idea to go this route and not damage equipment, I accidentally IR'd the boiler yesterday as I wasn't expecting it on the lighting circuit, luckily on 250. Isn't it prudent to test the lot at 250 most of which may max >999M and if we get a low reading then check carefully before switching to 500 for confirmation?
