lighting not turning off

Bank of 11 lights high pressure sodium lamps I think, 1switch operates all 11light fittings, 5 switching 6 won't switch off, at a guess would I be right saying the contact need replacing ?

That's where I would start
if in doubt swap the contacters over

Switching 11 HP lights from one standard 10A switch should be fun.

You may find that either
1/ standard switch controls a contactor
2/ Timed delay across half the lights
