Evening chaps,

Did a PIR other day, and the lighting has been wired as a ring and not 2 radials.

Now, i could hunt around and try and split it, but i was wondering what your thoughts were on this.

Its been like it for a fair few years on a 6A MCB and the owner has never had a problem with overload.

In other words... mark it on report as satisfactory and note it on the deviations or not?

Ta muchly.

Nothing wrong with lighting on a ring, external lighting being a good example
It seems the only thing to pick up on is the nuisance element of all being on that one circuit
I would call it satisfactory but also, I would code 4 it for that, and note the circuit design on the comments

No real issue there mate....best to note it on the cert though. As the OCPD for the circuit is not higher than the CCC of the cable (unlike a coventional ring final) then no real worries of overloading it at one point should someone come along at a later date and ad to or extend etc.

cheers matey, im still a little wet behind the ears at only 23.

Good job us youngsters have got access to experienced people on here who dont turn up their nose and moan about inexperience!
