have installed 4 down lights 11W each 230V, have connected them in paralle but 2 are bright and the other 2 not so bright. do you know why?
 
Different batch of lamps? Swap them between fittings, if they miraculously get brighter then it's a wiring problem, if they're the same then it's a lamp problem.
 
Hi Dunc,
I think what malcolm means is have you got the two that are bright in paralel,
and the two that are dim in series.That would give you the problem that you have got.
 
measure the volts at all the fittings,if you read low volts at the ones that are dim,
then measure live at the dim ones and neutral at the bright ones ect,this should help
find the problem.
