live zs reading problem

hi there, carrying out a live zs reading today on the lighting circuits. power was on but couldnt pick up a reading at the switch so i tried to test at each light fitting and couldnt pick up a reading. can any one tell what the problem might be? i was thinking probably a short circuit or a live to earth fault. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

No CPC , a live to earth fault or there would have been a bang unless of course there is no CPC , if you are doing a live Zs test you should have first carried out an R1 R2 test this will clarify the CPC are ok , after that you then do the IR test the Zs test should be done last !as for testing at a switch unless the switch has switch feed youll have no neutral , testing Zs should be carried out at the furthest point of the circuit not at the switch

agree with chris seems like earthing prob,you obviously got powere to the switch/fitting but prob with earth wil lnot give you your reading,try to verify your earthing,
