Looking For Advice - becoming An Electrician With A Criminal Record

Surely the prison sentence was the consequence and the debt to society paid in full .

I'm sure everyone wishes they could go back and undo something, but we just have to get on with our lives .

I definitely wish I could change what I did and what I was like getting into trouble But I cabt and nobodt can. And I know there are others who done worse and got away with it.

Definitely think kids are put at a great disadvantage by being ‘criminalised’ at a very young age for doing things out of stupidity rather than malice aforethought. Doors are shut and in the long run it probably forces more down the career criminal route as they have nothing to loose.

I'm on license at the minute and it will be more than 8 years until my convictions are spent.

Crikey what did you do? Bank robbery?

Ive only been arrested once since getting out over something stupid and they were winfing me up big time about being recalled to prison.

You've only been arrested one since getting out. I don't think you should be proud of that. Obviously you didn't learn your lesson in prison.

Maybe another spell inside would convince you to stay out of trouble.

I may sound a bit harsh, but you need tough love sometimes.

People who ----- foot around you saying well done for only getting arrested once and it was only a little crime will not help you.

Stay out of trouble and in 15 years I may give you a job.

I never said I was perfect but am much different to what I was like before prison. I did anger management and other courses when I was inside.

It was a -------- arrest, Was caught taking a ---- on a night out with my gf. Not the crime of the century and when the copper checked out my details it became drunk and disorderly and the cuffs went on in front of my gf which he didnt need to do.

I am ay home on a Saturday night - too knackered to go out after a hard weeks work. Before I was in prison i would be out every Saturday night and getting into scraps every other weekend. That hasnt happened sinve getting out and they are happy with me at work so I have changed and learnt my lesson.

I have a kid now and would hate to put him through having to see me back in prison. My Dad was in and out of prison when I was growing up and prison became normal for me. I was told at school that Id end up in prison like him and they were right. We were both in the same prison at the start of my sentence - on different wings so didnt see much of each other during the few months. He did visit me when he got released. Was kind of strange him being the visitor and me being the prisoner when it was the other way around when I was visiting him.

Unless you gave the police a bit of verbal and it got out of control.

Yes it was urination I was talking about.

I probably did give a bit of verbal but he was winding me up, I said something lke have you not got better things to ot something like that. Am sure he had done exactly the same as me before

Hmmm. Urinating in a public place is anti-social, selfish and IMHO offenders should be subject to a weeks scrubbing car park stair wells. If you can't hold your beer until you get home, don't drink it.

In your position then, sounding off to a copper is just plain stupid. Smile, apologise, move on - don't make them think its worth the paperwork. If you can't walk away after a few beers, don't have a few beers. It's not rocket science.

Coppers can be f**kwits too - if you are both "up for it", you're going to lose - don't take the risk
