Hello everyone,

before i start digging into my issue I would like some advice from professionals on where I should begin.

A while back I lost power to one of my circuits, I swapped the breaker to see if that was possibly the issue but it was not. When i have the breaker on as you can see in the photo my hallway lights go DIM but do not shut off or on its just constant, I included my living room light because there are several lights tied to that circuit but my hallway is the only one to emit anything. Nothing else on the circuit works, inside Lights, ceiling Fan, plugs or my outside lights.. This is the only breaker / circuit having issues. everything else if fine, no dimming flickering or anything.

Any advice on what is going on and how I should go about tracking down the issue to get it resolved would be appreciated. Thank you all.

Sorry, mate, but the majority of the members are UK based, with only a few exceptions.

We try to help where we can, but we know USA electrics to be somewhat different to ours, and short of saying “get an electrician in”, it’s hard to suggest anything.

Saying that, if only one item on the circuit is working…. The light…. Then that would be first place to look for a problem like a loose connection.

Isolate supply first before opening anything up.

My friend it sounds like when you added the extra light and then the problem started. Go to the light you added and cut off the power and take that light apart and check your splices. You have a problem with your neutral which to me is obviously your problem. Good luck and let us know if that works for you.
