Hi everybody,
tomorrow is my first NAPIT assessment, I have a small problem.
I've changed a consumer unit for this - I had another CU change for this I wanted to carry out, but unfortunate my customer fell seek, so I needed to do the assessment work at other place....

The think is - EDF didn't gave me permission to remove seals - so I had to change the meter tails live as they wanted to remove the seals next Tuesday - my assessment is tomorrow... Now I'm bit concerned what my assessor will say to that? Is it a fail? Should I cut the seals tomorrow morning and deal with EDF after and lie that I did it with main fuse removed - or is it better to say the truth??
Personally I would like to tell the truth, but dont want to fail because of that......
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Thanks everybody for clarifying the situation, from now on - I will cut every seal which stays in my way. I just didn't want to get in trouble - thanks - I will known for the future.... However I'll tell my assessor the truth - It was my aware decision.
Have a good evening

You shouldn't have. It's against the electricity at work act.

Mind you, probably the best place you could have worked live.

Electrical FAQs - Electrical safety at work

from the horses mouth

It is never absolutely safe to work on live electrical equipment. There are few circumstances where it is necessary to work live, and this must only be done after it has been determined that it is unreasonable for the work to be done dead. Even if working live can be justified, many precautions are needed to make sure that the risk is reduced 'so far as is reasonably practicable'. See: Electricity at work: Safe working practices for more details.
The Electrical Safety Council has also produced a Best Practice Guide on safe isolation procedures. [ElectriciansForums.net] Looking for best option

Acvc thanks for your help - as said I'm aware of the issues working live. I think I leave it as it is - and talk honestly with assessor. He shouldn't fail me because of this as actually there is no possibility to come back to this place... There is no point to change cu again just because previously it has been done live. Hope I'm right ;)
