Looking for some advice please

Hello everyone. I am a full qualified 17th edition electrician with about 10 years experience. I now want to set up on my own as a domestic electrician. Like i said i have nvq level 3 and 17th edition. I was just wondering is there any more qualifications or courses i need or should take? Any advice in general would be great. Thanks!

from what i have heard, stroma are more stringent on assessments than the big 3. horses 4 courses, stroma are way by far the cheapest of the lot.

Just to lob my own stone in the pond....was ELECSA, now STROMA. Nothing wrong with ELECSA but now I'm semi-retired so need to reduce costs. STROMA assessments are more stringent and their back-up ain't so good - 20 minutes hanging on the phone is typical. That said, STROMA is a far larger organisation than either NIC or ELECSA - they have diversified considerably, picking up a CP scheme along the way...
