Hi everone,I am new to the forum and think its brilliant,I am currently
studying for my 2394&2395 and am testing everything in sight with a
fluke 1651 multi functional tester. When i try to do a loop test on a lighting
circuit,I follow all the instuctions,but i keep getting >2000 ohms,i am obviously
doing something wrong, can anyone please advise,Thanks in advance

I am testing between the earth and live at the switch,on the video I have that is how it shows it to be done, but I am not getting the same results,I need to point out that in the video they are using a megger and I am using a 1651 fluke

does the fluke need to use 3 leads? the megger testers ( except the 1700's) use 3 leads on no trip.

yes,it uses 3 leads, but I have just been using the L and E,as is done in the video, also in the video they are using a megger and i am using a 1651 fluke, but wouldn't think that the make would make much difference as long as its set on the right function. It is ZI for loop impedance on the tester I have,I am trying to track down a manual for it.

yes, that is all ok. I wiil go through the video again and see if i have missed something, but watched it numerous times and still can't see what i am doing wrong.I will persrvere till I finally get it.
