I'm just curious as to what everyone thinks of the new device that has been made by pod point for their EV chargers?
It basically cuts the supply to the charger in the event of a broken PME.

Could we see this device being used at the source of PME installations?

I personally think it would be great, or am I being optimistic and this is something that has been tried before and not succeeded?

It would certainly stop the 100s of PME OR TT questions.

Not sure I trust any such claims, when this company suggests the 'earth impedance between the vehicle charging earth and the true ground (or earth), for chargers fitted outside the home, must be under 200 ohms'.

Don't think it says that in Section 72 of BS7671?

Have a look at John Ward's video when you have a spare 40 mins.

For it to be viable at the origin of an installation I think it should be in the meter. I have come across the use of a Matt:e Device being used to supply a metal shed with water pipes inside. not sure this is what the manufacturer had in mind when they made them.
