Lux level for warehouse forklift

What's the recommended levels for a warehouse that has a couple of forklifts operating.

400-500 ok?

It's my first real attempt at designing a lighting setup for an industrial unit so I'm a little unsure.

I'm also having my first go at using relux and have picked a led light fitting from ansell to get a feel for the design

500 is normally for perception with fine working.
It does depend what the warehouse is used for if you want to go less. I’m no designer but have done a warehouse in the past! Enjoy relux, I used dialux for a bit but haven’t touched it in a few years!

It's a good program but quite hard for me to use at the moment. Still trying to work out how to navigate it.

The warehouse is used for storage of metals ans plastics. Mostly used for rollcages and the motorsport industry. There is a large storage racking which holds alot of large lengths of tubes that are moved and sent for deliveries etc using the forklift

Are they manned? Visited lots of automated warehouse hubs,with robot stackers...work in the dark,you know...

Yeh it's manned. 3 men during working hours

It's for cost saving. The energy bills are very high and so they want to become more energy efficient.

The lighting was the obvious starting point. All fluorescent, metal halide, halogens etc

Could add smart lighting which would provide light harvesting, movement sensors and dimming to maximise energy savings. Plus need to consider emergency lighting.

I think I'm going to look at daylight dimmer as a bolt on. As you can see from the picture there are skylights. A daylight dimming bolt on should help reduce unneeded light from the system and boost light levels when needed.
