reg 544.1.2 (BRB) (still waiting for my LGB) states "as near as practicable to the point of entry of that service into the premises"

So here we go, doing a partial rewire upgrade of circuits etc, new gas main coming in, from out the external box chased in to the wall up in to the loft (bungalow) so i have bonded as soon as it enters the loft, as nowhere else leaves access to T&I, as far as i was aware this is fine, still getting readings of .02ohms (within the .05ohms asked for) along the entire pipe.

no it all comes to commission the boiler today, i'm wrong it HAS to be within 600mm of entry?

what are your thoughts guys?
Many thanks

Danny

many thanks guys! just checking something silly hasn't changed in the LGB!!

Danny

This is the problem when a gas guy just has a tick box on a sheet.

Wait until you install a combi supply on a TT system and he plugs his 'socket Zs tester' in expecting under 1 Ohm, try explaining TT concepts to him!

or, get them to chop a section of wall out so you can bond, then make them fit a detachable access panel.

It's just a shame that they can't be educated on what is really a pretty simple set of requirements for protective bonding!

After all, I stayed in 1 night and learned everything there is to know about gas and plumbing installations...... ;)

This is simple..... Get the plonker to show you where to make your bonding connection!!
Because if he can't see it, then you can't make a bonding connection to it!!!
