Hi All

If I install a RCD Shower CU to protect a new bathroom circuits (including lighting) fed from a spare way in an old rewireable Wylex CU, do I record the details of the shower CU switch as the main switch for the certificate or the main switch in the old Wylex board.

Thanks

Mark

I would quote the main switch at the old board as "The main switch". The spare way you have used then becomes a distribution circuit to you new CU. So when you fill out EIC for your new CU, you will quote main switch as the old wylex job, Your old CU will be titled "Main" in the appropriate box on the EIC plus all the PFC and Ze results to boot, then in the test results sheet you will put in Circuit ID as Shower Sub main, fill the rest in to suit R1, IR, Zs cable sizes etc etc. The do a new Test sheet for your new CU. This will be called "Shower"
then fill in all the details to suit.

remember that when you connect the old board to the new. the CPC must be at least 50% CSA of the cable supplying it because you have made a sub main, so it you have used 10mm T&E from old wylex to new CU you should have also put in a 6mm CPC as well.

When you have completed the paperwork, you will have one EIC and two schedule of test results.

Cheers...........Howard
