Manrose MF100 with low speed via external control?

I’be seen a manual for a Manrose MF100 extractor fan (inline) with the option for two speeds to be selected via an external switch, basically it switches between two line inputs to the fan.

I bought one and it only has a jumper switch inside the connection box to select the different speeds.

Has anyone seen the version for sale with the external switch speed control?

You can control suitable fans, & their speeds with a controller. Haven't seen such a fan in the Manrose MF range?

It’s for in the upstairs bedrooms (former bungalow) to remove hot air, is like to be able to select low speed to reduce noise through the intake.

I think you need to look at something else. These types of fans are deigned to remove damp or stale air. They are not designed as a cooling system.

Fit a silent fan instead that can go at full speed or fit an inline with a thermostat switch in the room - you won’t hear anything then.
The Envirovent silent 100 is “whisper quiet”. I’ve done this in my attic room to keep the upper ceiling temp down to 25 degrees so lower down is toasty but not hot.
In summary - Quiet fan or inline fan.

The fan will be in the loft, I doubt it will be heard, it’s the intake noise at the inlet in the ceiling I’m trying to quieten.

It is an in-line fan

There is a Manrose speed controller but it’s £50 and I don’t really need that much control over it, just two speeds!

I couldn’t find one in the UK with separate external speed control, only foreign versions.

So I connected the two switched lives directly to the jumper pins for the internal speed control.

to reduce the noise at the inlet why not use larger ducting and more terminals so as to reduce the in duct pressure. maybe add an attenuator or two as well.
