no trip tests are not as reliable as high current zs/ze testIts a dilog 9083p - not all that.
Not had it long but it seems to give odd results, it runs a 'no trip' test, looking at other threads others have commented on it too.
Has anyone used the Martindate i mentioned?

We had a situation the other day where the RCD was making the Zs readings high. Linked out and all was fine.
You could use the alternative Zs method on high loop and compare to a no trip and see what the results show.
When was your tester last calibrated?
paul dont forget that some mcb's,rcd's,relays and overloads can all affect the zs valueIts not long been calibrated.
I think its problem with this tester.
Looked at a Martindale in the wholesalers the other day, seemed neat, and was cheap - wondered if it suffered like my Dilog does.
