Fellas this has probably been covered before, on average what percent do you mark up your materials?, I've always wanted to compare with others

I don't tend to mark up on materials I just find out what the retail price is to public and charge that. Not that there's much difference in trade/public price nowadays.

depends on the size of the job and wether you want it or not, anything from 5%-10% for quality work from a well paying frequent customer depending on the value of the materials, to 30% for a small job I don't really want.

Agree not really the place joe blogs thinks us trades rip them off enough as it is.

Rip off my arse !:32:

We could be fronting the costs of said materials for up to 6 months or more on the bigger / longer lasting jobs , would like to see their bank do the same !!!

Not having a go at you chap , it just really does get my back up with all this " being ripped off " , it is more likely going to be the customer shafting us now days !

As it happens we tend to get our regular customers to open their own accounts but on our discounts with our wholesalers .
