Hi all, I installed a system on my roof March 2011 and am now looking into getting MCS accreditation. Currently, two panels connected in series terminated in a DC isolator. I have completed my 17th and am looking into my 2391 and general solar training. I had an electrician on board who was going to help me wire it all up but he has now decided he can't be bothered/doesn’t have the skill set.

Is anyone out there interested in showing me how to wire it all up correctly? In return I have an installation in Greenwich and one in Wimbledon that I am willing to split profits 60/40. I have had these systems professionally designed and priced by a friend.

You must be a charming bloke to have convinced two people to sign up for an install from a guy that hasn't even done his training. I'd advise that you get some training before you do anything else. Your cart is so far ahead of your horse that it's in a different time zone.

I needed to know there was a market before I invested my time and money. It depends which one you consider to be the cart and which the horse.

I suppose we're all different ;-)

Which inverter are you using? I'd take a read through the DTI guide if I were you and this should give you a start

Regards the meter, should it not go isolator then meter. DTI guide on page 8 I think shows meter then isolator. Surely if you switched the isolator off the meter would still be running when your not feeding anything back to the grid??

@swifters, With the 17th, why not just sign up with NICEIC, that's all you need to be a Cerified Domestic Installer with them, then you can do it all yourself.

Shoot first, aim later ....

How would the meter be running if the isolator was turned off?

@Worcs - OP needs a solar qualification too, someone has to sign the installation and test certs.

@Morgan123, yep I realised that, it's just after the stuff I saw today (my post with the pictures) I thought we might just as well let anybody do what they like, and then just let them make their own mistakes, seeing as there is so much information already written in this forum and they can't be bothered to look and find it for themselves. Seems like 'me first customer second' :cowboy:

Damn, better put plugs in the sockets before the elctricity leaks out........:13:

I'm sure he'll be fine signing the certs, customer just won't qualify for FiTS, but what does that matter, they've got their solar panels, they're getting their free 'leccy what more do they want.
