Has anyone had experience of the MCS assesment process?

Which assesment body did you use and what was your experience, good or bad?

Which is the best value for money?

Me too
And where are all the courses in place for the onrush of installations assumed by the govt!
Reality maybe that the economics and hassle don't add up!

my wifes work are a charity and as such are trying to get funding for a small wind turbine £to show how "Green" they are
They also applied for funding for electric vehicles under some government scheme or other and got knocked back and told "the benefits wouldnt be enough to justify the cost" I think the same would be found about microgeneration if people realy looked into it

probably the case mogga but the technology will only get better, might as well be one of the first on the bandwagon until it gets too crowded!

Was looking into the napit scheme but got side tracked and havent bothered since so i'm also interested in other peoples views and opinions :)

I am currently going through the process with a mentoring company called easy mcs, they are proving very helpfull but they are not an assessing body, did any of you guys go through with one and if so how did you get on?

I am from the The British Photovoltaic Association (BPVA) and we are conducting a market survey of all MCS certificated installers in the UK giving a unique insight into the UK PV industry. One of the things we are looking to find out is “Is MCS fit for purpose?” And other questions about the MCs testing system, this will all be reported back to the assessors.

Fill out our survey here: MCS Installer Survey

To show our appreciation of your participation in the survey, we are offering all MCS installers who complete the survey, 50% discount on annual BPVA membership joining in 2011 (normally membership fee is £1,000 per year) plus free listing on the ‘Meet Your Installer’ area of our website (normally £149.00) and free listing on our consumer campaign website ‘Power From The Sun’ (normally £250). Free listing in our printed and online Member & Installer Directory being published shortly. This is a total saving of £899!
