Lived next door to 2 teachers for 10 years, one head teacher. I started work before them, got home after them, ate then did another couple of hours work. They had the weekend off because they were exhausted while I worked at least another day. I managed a £2 million budget and 14 staff both more than they had and was paid about 70% of their pay, had 7 weeks less holiday, couldn't retire early and didn't get the same final pension scheme.

I couldn't do the job - I'd murder the kids and I don't think it's allowed but it's a well paid job with brilliant holidays and pension if you can avoid killing the kids!! Exactly what have they got to strike about??
