Is there an option to turn off the audible sound when a test is carried out or if the tester is applied to a live circuit on the wrong setting?

I just received a megger 1553 and can't get any audible sound to work.

Thanks in advance.

I think there is a Megger rep on this forum, might be worth sending him a PM. Or to the forum sponsor Test-meter.

Just phoned up megger and had a chat, the buzzer is broken in mine unfortunately. A replacement costs around 50pence, labor charges on top of that will bring the cost up considerably.

Looks like i will have to contact the seller and explain that there is a problem. :frown:

Its a pain when that happens, a guy I do work with bought two Megger 1730's from eBay from different buyers and both had faults and had to be returned

To be honest i wouldn't of gone for it if the defect was explained in the listing. Was a good deal at ÂŁ255 with fused fluke test leads and a socket and see adaptor.

I want a tester without any defects though. The continuity buzzer would get used as well.

Sure if a hunt around again i could get a decent deal.
