what sort of life are you getting from yout multitesters?
I have a megger 1552 and it does not seem to have a very goog battery life. Probably do a dozen or less 8/10 way board changes (with insul resistance, R1+R2, Ze, Pfc, RCD tests per board) and the batteries are dead.
Am thinking of using Li batteries now (not the rechargables mind).

I'm lucky to get 2 days out of the batteries on my 1553.
Metrel do a meter that you can plug in and charge if only megger could do the same.

i have found that mine last longer on my 1552 if i dont leave it in the van over night,, it likes it cosy !!

What do you do when ir testing and it slowly creeps upwards. Do you hold it down until it stops?

that sounds like a reasonable option sintra, esp as the IR testing and particularily at 500 and 1000V chew batteries, as does the continuity buzzer apparantly.

Seems others have a similar problem. I called megger today and they admitted that the tester can chew batteries, they also said that they were looking at developing a rechargable battery pack that woudl be backwards compatible, although I am not sure how comitted they were to this option.
