Megger 1552 Best Price

Whats the best price anyone has paid and where from for a megger 1552?? Looking at buying one in next couple of weeks and dont want to be ripped off, CEF quoted £515 + VAT, and seen here http://isswww.co.uk/products/Megger/MFT1552.aspx for £469 + VAT.

Anyone used that site to buy anything before?? Are they reputable??

Your help would be appreciated.

stu-rob, check out Brewtime (Online electrical wholesaler | Brewtime). I've just bought my MFT1552 from there - £466 plus VAT - came in at £535! CHEAPEST price you will find brand new (I'm good with bargans!).

Spoke to the owner on the phone and he was really helpful also! Apparently Megger are outselling Fluke 5 to 1 at the moment!

Thanks for your help, looks a good price from brewtime, might see if CEF can match it!!! Like to buy things from shops cos if they go wrong you can take it straight back!!

I'm pretty sure that Brewtime have a faulty replacement policy

And don't forget that any tester you buy will come with a calibration cert.... so would have been fully tested.

I buy all my test equipment from Instrument Sales and Services. . Never had any problems. I think they are the cheapest around.

what is the diffrents between the 1552, 1501-2 and the 1502-2

I'm pretty sure the 155 range replaced the 150 range. And there are 3 different models:-
1551- Performs all 17th edition required tests (Low Ohm Resistance/Continuity, Insulation Resistance, No Trip Earth Fault Loop, PFC and RCD tests)
1552- Same as 1551 but with Auto RCD tests.
1553- Same as 1552 but with Bluetooth connectivity.

I think... lol

I have been offered a 1502 at a good price (with calibration certificat ), can anyone tell me if this tester is up to the 17Th edition. as i will be having a nic assessment soon.

The new "17th edition kits" are a marketing ploy. If it can do an Rcd,continuity,Insulation,pfc,Eli test you can use ti for testing provided its calibrated. The only major change in the 17th regards readings is the Insulation Resistance values.
