I have one too it's nearly 10 years old, absolutely bullet proof tester imho! Still passing calibration and only ever has new batteries and occasionally new leads.

thanks everyone for the advice
i have bought some new fuses and hopefully that fixes the issue. if it doesent then i will have to find someone who can repair it.
megger told me they wont do repairs on the 1552 anymore as it is fairly old model so will have to find someone.
