I'm on my 3rd 24v makita after taking each one back for a fault, now both my battery's have packed up on this one. I still rate makita and will continue to buy there products, just not there 24v sds.

i have had same makita for 3 years and use it regular and had no problem with the batteries just this problem with the hammer action just wunderin if anybody else has come across this problem

Phone Makita UK and ask them where your nearest service centre is. Ours is the local hire shop. They will normally look at it then give you a quote to fix

I think there are a lot of fake tools out there now with a label on them thats not what it really is / who its made by, and they get sold on building sites from the back of a van or punted on to unwitting shop keepers, who then re -sell them

Your best bet would be to find an electrician or someone with even rudimentary electrical knowledge to have a look at it. These things have very few components inside them and it would be relatively simple for even a second year apprentice to track down the problem and repair it. My best guess would be that one of the wires has snapped free from the switch due to the high wear and tear it gets chasing walls.
Anyway, see if you can find an electrician.

lol i am an electrician its got nothing to do with the wiring, the switch and drill work fine apart from the hammer action therefore its a mechanical problem pal

if u have just bought it send it back for warranty repair.
Here is a link to there customer service contact page

I always actively encourage anyone with a faulty machine under warranty, get it sorted before its expired.
