Hi all I'm installing a 2post car lift 3 phase, when I bought it the lift there was a damaged switch box on so I've bought a eaton mem dol box all wired in,
The only thing I want to change is the way it works when I press either the forward or reverse button it latches in and have to press the stop button to stop it,
What I'm wanting it to do is when I press the forward/reverse buttons for it to start and when I release the button I want it to stop,
I've been told it's just a case of changing the links but I'm unsure witch ones and don't fancy a Big Bang,
There's some pictures of inside the lid with the diagram if it makes sense to anyone the help would be much appreciated
Cheers Gav

It would require the holding circuit broken at 53 or 54 (hold contact) of each direction. But, in changing the control gear, be aware that you may be invalidating any safety approvals and therefore it might not be acceptable to an insurer as safe under PUWER.

There will be various safety inerlocks on the lift and the lift may have to go up before it goes down depending on the type of lift . Hydraulic lifts are not powered down, and as Lucien has alluded to , you will have to be careful altering this lift.

Is there a hold on contact on the contactor? If so it could be a case of disconnecting this, although this will need to be checked with manufacturer to be safe

In my experience most of them are like that , let go of up button and it stops. disconnecting that will be a no no .The older ones are a two handed lower.
I worked on a newer type the other week a single button lower .It goes up first to disengage the interlocks .

Basically you disconnect terminals 17/18 which are the hold-on contacts. 21/22 are the interlocks between forward/reverse to prevent you pressing both buttons and shorting out two phases!

17/18 are not the hold on contacts, as Lucien has said above the hold on is 53/54.
