Does metal conduit need earthing , and if so what size ?

I’ve pulled twin and earth double insulated cable through old metal pipes, previously used for singles, the circuit is on a RCD.
 
As the conduit is not the sole means of earthing the circuit, the cpc in the cable is… all you need is to ensure the metal back box is earthed, which in turn is connected to the conduit.

If the conduit is continuous, then wouldn’t rewiring in singles have been easier to pull in
