Possibly an unusual question really. I'm fitting a metal surface box in order to terminate a SWA cable. I'd like to fit a switch fuse spur point. My concern is from memory, years ago, that some accessories may clash with the SWA gland / locknut at point of entry. Is that still the case these days? If so i suppose i could terminate the SWA gland into a 20mm coupler first, so that just a brass male bush is within the box.
Thanks

Depends on the size gland you are using.

A 20mm gland should be fine, even with the banjo and locknut. Although sometime depending on the accessory layout you may struggle to screw it back with the gland poking through.

That's going to be even worse than the locknut!
what are you talking about, you use both, a locknut to hold the gland and pirana for earth.

in a plastic db i would rather do what i posted above

and a pirahna nut does hold them tight and you have more metal to grip with pliers, spanner or adjustable
