meter fault

Had a call from a customer. Did a 4kw last jan. meter has only clocked 480 kw/h's. I said that wasn't nearly enough. Although when he was speaking to me he said the inverter was showing 3kw at that time.
So before I go round I just wandered if anyone had had similar fault?
Panels and inverter appear to be ok on what the customer said so could it be the meter?

Could be. Or it could be that the inverter isn't running all the time even though it is showing 3kW when he spoke to you.

Perhaps it is cutting out due to high grid voltage or something similar?

What inverter is it?

Sounds as if the meter is wired the 'correct' way and not the solar way.

Seen this happen before. Inveter clocked 1400kw
Meter 124kw

By the meter being wired wrong. Be worth having a look to see.

Meter wired incorrectly. Easily rectified and employee reprimanded.
Very understanding customers lost about £400 in feed in tariff. They are now happy it's working.
Put down to experience!

So presumably you compensated the customer ?

Good man, some wouldn't :)
