Was at my parents at the weekend getting their tree down out the attic, and I noticed their inverter was reading 0.0W….

Popped in again this morning to check it was getting power before I thought about cracking it open.

Can anyone explain what everything means compared to what I think they mean??

There’s only one button I see, and all it does is cycles through readings on screen….
You can see its reading “consistent fault” at the moment with “Pac 0.0W” which I presume should read what the PV is generating in normal operation.

Cycling through,
I get “Vac 277” (or fluctuating thereabouts) which I assume is the AC voltage that should be coming off the PV. The supply voltage from grid is 244 according to my calibrated tester.
277 seems very high.
I also get “Vpv 414” which I guess is the DC voltage coming off the panels.

So I’m getting dc voltage, am reading ac voltage, but it doesn’t seem to be sent back on the supply.

Their generation meter hasn’t increased between Sunday and today.

They will be contacting the installer, but I don’t have much faith looking at the rest of the install.

Update

I’ve been in contact with Solax directly, showed them all the readings I’ve got, and they agree it’s a very high voltage, and that’s what’s creating the “VAC” fault.

They have offered to replace with a refurbished unit foc, as it’s still under 10 years old…. Their warranty period.
