Hi guys,

A friend has just bought a house an the electrics haven't been touched since the 60s when it was built.

Still on fuse wire bacolite fuse carrier etc...

So the problem is the Gas meter is infront of the main fuse and fuse board. The gas meter blocks clear access to the fuses.
This makes putting a new consumer unit in pretty tricky.


Gas board have said its not their problem. An it will be £600+ to have them move it out of the way ( approx 600mm).

Any thoughts?
