Meter running backwards

Had pv installed 10 days ago - as others have found, our meter disc spins backwards on a sunny day. However, the numbers of the actual meter reading do not run backwards, they just remain stationary.

Does this mean our meter is OK and I don't need to notify EDF?

I cant see why you would have to tell EDF as the numbers are not going backwards but give them a ring if will give you peace of mind...

It's actually very handy to be able to tell whether we are exporting (disc clockwise) or importing (disc anticlockwise) as I can choose when to put things on like dishwasher etc!

So would rather not contact EDF and have the meter changed, just wanted reassurance I'm not behaving fraudulently by not doing so!

I have seen meters running backwards and the numbers run backwards as well your isnt so it cant be fraud...

My dial also runs backwards and the No's go in reverse
Done some looking into it and looks like if they change the meter from dial/disc type to just No's they wont go backwards
Goes forward when i put the kettle on.
